Badgers fall late to Penn State

Goal in 86th minute drops Badgers in Big Ten opener

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Wisconsin Badgers men's soccer team lost to Penn State tonight, 1-0. in its first Big Ten game of the season.

How it happened
It was a game that ultimately came down to who took advantage of their chances on the offensive end. For 85 minutes both teams were battling it out with the game as a whole being fairly even. However, in the 86th minute the deadlock was broken by Penn State in the form of a header by Van Danielson.

The Badgers had many threatening opportunities in the final third but could never seem to finish the sequence. Many of the Badgers' goals this season have come off of set pieces, but the Badgers were not able to put one in the back of the net tonight. Wisconsin led with eight corners, seven more than the Nittany Lions.

Notes
- Carter Abbott is making a habit of pulling off spectacular saves with the junior making a superb save in the first half to keep the contest 0-0.
