MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track team and field sent throwers to the Red Hawk Opener, while the rest of the team traveled to Iowa City for the second day of the Larry Wieczorek Invitational on Saturday.Â
The Badgers won two events on the day and broke two school records.
Throwers win two at Red Hawk Opener
The Badgers started the meet off strong, sweeping the podium in the weight throw. Redshirt junior Chloe Lindeman placed first, throwing 74 feet, 7 inches. Lindeman improved her previous best by more than two feet and smashed the UW record with her winning toss, besting the previous mark of 73-3 1/4 set by Banke Oginni in 2019. Her throw now leads the Big Ten and ranks her fourth nationally. Lindeman was followed by Olivia Roberts, throwing a personal best of 71-05¼ for second place, and Abby Peeler in third at 64-0¼. Roberts' throw moves her up to fourth on the Badgers all-time performance list.
Sophomore Danni Langseth claimed her first win of the indoor season in the shot put, winning with a toss of 49-7¼, a new personal best.Â
