UW improves to 10-0-0 thanks to shutout win in the Twin Cities
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Wisconsin women's hockey team continued its stellar start to the 2023-24 season, earning a 3-0 win at St. Thomas on Saturday Night at the St. Thomas Ice Arena.Â
Lacey Eden, Britta Curl and Casey O'Brien each lit the lamp as the Badgers (10-0-0, 6-0-0 WCHA) completed the sweep of the Tommies (4-6-0, 0-6-0 WCHA).Â
Eden scored the lone goal for Wisconsin in the first period as she capitalized on the power play for her 12th goal of the year.Â
With just 19 seconds remaining in the second period, Captain Curl doubled the lead. The Bismarck, North Dakota, native has scored in nine-straight games, tying the school record for longest goal streak. Olympian Meghan Duggan also had a nine-game goal streak during the 2010-11 season.Â
O'Brien capitalized on a breakaway opportunity in the third period to put the game out of reach.Â
Ava McNaughton made 17 saves to earn her second shutout of the season and her fifth win of her Badger career.Â
