UW takes ninth at Denver tournament

DENVER — After three days of play in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at the University of Denver Golf Club, Wisconsin women's golf has placed ninth at two-over par. 

Chloe Chan garnered top honors for the Badgers, tying for 17th place at two-under par. UC Berkeley led the 14-team field at 21-under par, surpassing host Denver in the final round. 

Sunday, October 8 - Round 3

The Badgers shot a 287 (-1) in the final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate to finish in ninth place. Vanessa Ho carded a 69 (-3) for her best round of the tournament. Ho completed the Intercollegiate tied for 47th. Chan made par to tie for 17th, her best finish of the season. 

Alexia Siehl and Carly Carter each shot a one-over 73, with Siehl finishing tied for 27th and Carter tied for 42nd. Kate Brody tallied a six-over 78 to complete the Intercollegiate tied for 51st. 

Saturday, October 7 - Round 2

Wisconsin carded a 293 (+5) in the second round of the Intercollegiate, placing ninth headed into the third and final round. Siehl improved her second round score by four strokes to shoot a two-under 70 and tie for 23rd place with four birdies, while Chan (T15) continued her lead for the Badgers as she made par. 

Brody shot a three-over 75 to tie for 31st, while Carter (T47) and Ho (T67) each carded a four-over 76. 

The final round of the tournament is a shotgun start beginning at 7: 30 a.m. CT. 

Friday, October 6 - Round 1

The Badgers came out strong in the first round of play in Colorado, finishing at 2-under par 286 as a squad across the 14-team tournament. Junior Chan and freshman Brody lead the Badgers at 2-under par each to finish tied for 11th place, shooting 70s through the first 18 holes of the competition. Chan earned four birdies on Friday, while Brody collected three.

Teammate Carter finished T32 at even-par 72 including three birdies, while Siehl (T47) shot 2-over par 74 and Ho (T65) shot 5-over par 77 to round out scoring for the Badgers.
