Team USA captures November games of Rivalry Series

Ten Badgers suited up for USA and Canada this past week
MADISON, Wis. – Team USA has grabbed the first two games of the seven-game Rivalry Series against Canada this past week. Ten Badgers are featured on the rosters for the series, skating for both the United States and Canada.
Former Badgers Natalie Buchbinder, Hilary Knight and Abby Roque suited up alongside current Badgers Britta Curl, Lacey Eden and Laila Edwards to represent the United States, while Kristen Campbell, Emily Clark, Sarah Nurse and Blayre Turnbull were among those on the roster for Canada. In addition, Wisconsin women's hockey alum Sis Paulsen was on the USA Hockey staff as an equipment manager.
Hilary Knight tallied the first goal of the game with just eight seconds remaining in the first period. Knight also picked up a helper on the game-winning goal, while Lacey Eden added an assist on USA's third goal.
Sarah Nurse grabbed a point with an assist on Canada's lone goal.
Britta Curl, captain of the Badgers, lit the lamp with an unassisted goal after intercepting a pass. Hilary Knight tallied two assists, while Abby Roque added a helper on the first goal of the game.
Kristen Campbell was inbetween the pipes for Canada, stopping 19 of the shots she faced.
Wisconsin sophomore Laila Edwards made her U.S. Senior Women's National Team debut, becoming the first Black athlete to do so.
The two teams return to the ice against each other on Dec. 14, 2023 in Kitchener, Ontario at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, and on Dec. 16, 2023 in Sarnia, Ontario at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Both games are set to begin at 7 p.m. local time and can be seen live on NHL Network.

Game Two: Saturday, Nov. 11 (5-2, USA)
