Badgers record 17 NCAA qualifying times and 10 top-10 school marks at Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - The 20th-ranked Wisconsin men's swimming team wrapped up the Texas Invitational on Saturday with four more NCAA qualifying times and one school record. Over the four-day meet, the Badgers recorded 17 NCAA qualifying times and 10 top-10 school marks.

Torok breaks school record

Sophomore Dominik Mark Torok continues to lead the Badgers this season, setting a school record in the 200 butterfly. The Budapest, Hungary, native touched in 1 minute, 41.76 seconds, breaking the previous record of 1:42.49 set by Daniel Lester in 2011. Torok improved his personal best by nearly two seconds and earned an NCAA 'B' qualifying time.

Wisconsin also recorded a top-10 time in the 400 free relay as the team of Andrew Benson, Chris Morris, Taiko Torepe-Ormsby and Ben Wiegand combined for the fifth-fastest time in program history of 2:53.57.

NCAA qualifying times

UW picked up two NCAA'B' cuts in the 1650 freestyle as junior Yigit Aslan finished third in 15:02.20 and senior Jude Williams took seventh in 15:25.12.

Senior Andrew Benson also earned an NCAA 'B' qualifying time, taking seventh in the 100 freestyle in 43.10, just .19 seconds off his personal best.

The Badgers send qualifiers to the U.S. Open on Nov. 29-Dec. 2 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
