
Seven Badgers honored as WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award recipients

Student-athletes awarded for outstanding academic success
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey student-athletes Britta Curl, Lacey Eden, Jane Gervais, Cami Kronish, Marianne Picard, Grace Shirley and Sarah Wozniewicz were named WCHA Scholar-Athletes, the league announced Wednesday.Â
Kronish is one of 10 student-athletes being honored as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete for the fourth time in her career. This marks the third time that captain Curl has earned the honors and the second time that Gervais has been a recipient of the award. Eden, Picard, Shirley and Wozniewicz are all first-time recipients.Â

For the league's highest academic honor, league-member student-athletes must have completed at least one year of residency at their present institution prior to the current academic year and must also have a grade point average of at least a 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for their previous two semesters or three quarters or they may also qualify if their overall GPA is at least a 3.50 for all terms at their present institution.Â
