Five things to know: Badgers host Valentine Invitational

Wisconsin also sends select athletes to Alex Wilson Invitational
MADISON, Wis. – The 25th-ranked Wisconsin women's track and field team continues its indoor season, competing at two different meets this weekend.
UW hosts the Badger Valentine Invitational on Friday at the Shell. Field events start at 3 p.m. while running events start at 4:45 p.m.
Wisconsin also sends select middle and long distance athletes to South Bend, Indiana, for the Alex Wilson Invitational. The Badgers will compete in the distance medley relay, looking to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Events start at 9:30 a.m. CT on Saturday.
Here are five events to watch this weekend.
1. WHERE WE RANK: Wisconsin is ranked 25th in the USTFCCCA national rankings released Feb. 13. No. 18 Nebraska is the top Big Ten team in the rankings. The Badgers are also third in the Great Lakes Regional rankings behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Michigan.
2. HIGH CLEARANCE: Sophomore Julia Moore is back for more this weekend after setting a new personal record in the pole vault of 13 feet, 4 ¼ inches last weekend. Moore has the fourth-highest clearance in the program's history. Teammates Tia Dorshorst and Kenzi Kluge should also see action in the vault.
3. DISTANCE WATCH: A handful of Badgers are entered to compete in the distance events on Friday. The 3000-meter run will begin at 5:10 p.m., and the mile will begin at 5:45 p.m. with runners Peyton Sippy, Kate Ricks, and Mya Bunke.
4. DMR TO INDIANA: The Badgers send select athletes to compete in the distance medley relay at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Indiana. Emma Watcke, Shaina Zinter, Danielle Bellino and Madison Mooney are scheduled to compete in the relay, which begins at 10:40 a.m. CT on Saturday.
