Guard will seek medical redshirt, two years of eligibility
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin guard Jahcobi Neath underwent successful hip surgery and will officially miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season for the Badgers, as announced by Neath and the UW Sports Medicine staff on Friday.
Having only played in three games this season with the Badgers, Neath intends to apply for medical redshirt for the 2022-23 season, which would reclassify his eligibility to junior status this season. Last season, Neath played in 23 games as part of UW's team that won a share of the 2022 Big Ten regular season championship.
Playing at Wake Forest in 2019-20 and 2020-21 before transferring to Wisconsin, Neath also qualifies for an additional year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and would be eligible for two more seasons in total.
