No. 25 Badgers overpower Washington in 6-1 win

Wisconsin makes it three wins in a row with victory on Saturday
BOISE, Idaho – The No. 25 Wisconsin women's tennis team came away with a big 6-1 road win against Washington on Saturday in Boise, Idaho. The women are currently on a three-game win streak after prevailing against the Huskies.

The Badgers continued their stellar doubles play against Washington, which has consistently been one of the team's biggest strengths so far this season. The two wins that saw Wisconsin claim the doubles point had a combined score of 12-1. Ava Markham and Maria Sholokhova started the day off by beating Erika Matsuda and Astrid Olsen, 6-0, followed by Xinyu Cai and Alina Mukhortova winning against Hikaru Sato and Zehra Suko, 6-1.
Mukhortova's exceptional play carried over to singles, giving the team their first singles win after beating Sato 6-0, 6-4. Taylor Cataldi gave the Badgers their third point overall with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Matsuda and then Charmaine Seah sealed the win for the team by beating Melissa Sakar 6-4, 4-2.
Next up, the Badgers continue play in Boise on Sunday with a match against Boise State at 11:30 a.m. (CT).
