MADISON, Wis. – The No. 24 Wisconsin women's tennis team (17-5) took down No. 70 Indiana Friday night in a commanding win at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
 
Xinyu Cai and Alina Mukhortova, the newly ranked No. 82 doubles team in the country, started off doubles play in an assertive manner. They bested Alexandra Staiculescu and Nicole Teodosescu 6-1, setting the tone for the night. Ava Markham and Maria Sholokhova came out victorious against Lara Schneider and Saby Nihalani 6-2 to seal the doubles point for the Badgers. Taylor Cataldi and Charmaine Seah also ended up beating Lauren Lemonds and Rose Hu, 6-1, giving Wisconsin wins in all three doubles matches. 
 
Cataldi had a flying start to singles action, thrashing Staiculescu 6-0, 6-1 to win the first singles match for the Badgers. Sholokhova followed that up with a strong 6-3, 6-1 performance against Nihalani. Matches on court three and five finished almost simultaneously to seal the win for the Badgers; Cai beat Teodosescu 6-4, 6-3 first and Mukhortova triumphed against Mila Mejcic 6-2, 7-6 immediately after.
