MADISON, Wis. - The 17th-ranked Wisconsin men's track and field team travels to Philadelphia for the prestigious Penn Relays at Franklin Field this weekend. The event runs from Thursday-Saturday. The relays will be streamed live on

Here are the five events to watch:
1. DOING THE DASH: Competing in the sprint events this weekend are Badgers
Lawrence Johnson and
Giovanni Wearing. Johnson currently holds the UW record in the 100 meters (10.08) and 200 meters (20.41) and was the 2023 Big Ten Indoor Champion in the 60 meters. Freshman Wearing is having an outstanding rookie season, adding his name to UW's all-time top performers in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal best of 13.95. He currently is eighth in the Big Ten this season.
2. RELAY ROWDIES: Wisconsin is set to compete in two relays this weekend -- the distance medley relay and 4x1500-meter relay. The quartet of
Adam Spencer,
Colin Enz,
Abdullahi Hassan and
Jackson Sharp finished third in the DMR at the NCAA Indoor Championships. In the 4x1500-meter relay, Spencer, Hassan and Jackson are potential members as well as
Bob Liking. Badgers
Micah Wilson and Josh Truchon compete in the 5,000 meters while Benjamin Nibbelink is set to compete in his first 3000-meter steeplechase.
3. THE LAND OF FAR, FAR AWAY: Redshirt junior
Jason Swarens will be competing in this weekend's shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Swarens set two personal records this season in the shot put and discus. His best throw of 65-2 in the shot put lands him third in the Big Ten this season and second all-time at UW.
Andrew Stone, who is set to compete in the shot put and discus, holds the school record in the shot put with a toss of 65-6 ¼. This season, Stone threw a personal best of 180-7 in the discus, landing him 10th all-time at UW and 12th in the Big Ten this season. Grad student
Sam Coil, who is currently second all-time in the hammer with a best throw of 219-10 and third in the Big Ten this season, is set to compete in that event alongside Badger
Cole Hooper
4. JUMP AROUND: Competing in this weekend's triple jump and long jump is Badger
Justin Kiefel. Kiefel is ranked ninth in the Big Ten season with a best jump of 48-7 ¼ in the triple jump.
