No. 22 Badgers fall in second round of NCAA Tournament

Wisconsin loses to No. 12 Iowa State in postseason
AMES, Iowa – The No. 22 Wisconsin women's tennis team (20-7) fell to No. 12 Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

It was a tough matchup for the Badgers, with the Cyclones having two ranked doubles teams and two ranked singles players. However, the Badgers did not let that hold them back from competing against a top team.

Iowa State won the first two doubles matches to seal the doubles point. The Cyclones proceeded to win three singles matches to seal the win. Alina Mukhortova managed to pull out a win against Supapitch Kuearum in singles, winning 6-2, 6-2.

The Badgers finish the season with an overall record of 20-7, hitting 20 wins for the first time since the 1996-1997 season. The team now has three 20-win seasons in program history.
