Badgers recognized with 2023 ITA Academic Awards

Individuals and team earn honors for work in classroom
MADISON, Wis. — The 2022-23 season was full of success for Wisconsin women's tennis, not only on the court but in the classroom as well, as Wisconsin earned 2023 ITA All-Academic team honors and six Badgers earned individual ITA Scholar Athlete awards, which was announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday.
Wisconsin was one of 234 Division I women's tennis programs to earn All-Academic team distinction.
Individual Badgers to earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors included: Wisconsin's six athletes were part of a total of 1,513 DI women's student-athletes that were named an ITA Scholar Athlete.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. Academia is an integral aspect of the college tennis experience and adds to the unique student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
