Badger alum competes with the best at Athletes Unlimited
MADISON, Wis. – Former Wisconsin Badger softball standout Kelsey (Jenkins) Harshman signed with professional softball league Athletes Unlimited and will begin competition July 28 in the league's fourth year.
Harshman was a three-time All-B1G Ten First Team selection and a unanimous selection her senior season (2018). She is also a two-time Great Lakes All-Region Second Team selection. In 2018, Harshman finished first in the Big Ten in the regular season in batting average (.420) and on-base percentage (.578). The Arizona native also set a school record for most consecutive games reaching base at 40 and reached base in all but one game in 2018. She also earned a Bronze medal with the 2020 Canadian National Softball Team, and remains on the roster as the Canadian team competes nationally.
Athletes Unlimited is comprised of 56 of the world's best professional softball players and will compete for five weeks at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois. The top four players (based on points) become new captains each week and draft their teams from scratch each week's games.
For week one, Harshman will compete on Team (Dejah) Mulipola (Gold) and take on Team (Shannon) Rhodes (Purple) on Friday, July 28 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN 2. All games will broadcast across the ESPN network of channels. For up-to-date rosters and games, click here.
