Badgers ride past Ramblers

Wisconsin wins third-straight game in Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – Three different Badgers found the back of the net to lift the Wisconsin women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Loyola on Thursday night.

Thanks to the win, UW (4-1-2) extended its winning streak to three-straight matches.

How it happened
It was a scrappy match between the Ramblers (3-4-0) and the Badgers on the road that featured a delayed start. Wisconsin struck first in the 20th minute, with Aryssa Mahrt putting the Badgers up 1-0. Maddie Ishaug was integral in the opening goal, making a brilliant run behind Loyola's backline and squaring it to Mahrt to provide the assist. Both have played big roles in the success of the Badgers so far this season, with Mahrt bringing an offensive spark and Ishaug dominating the midfield.
However, Loyola equalized in the 44th minute to make it 1-1. While it appeared to be the final goal of the half, some last-minute heroics by Adee Boer gave the Badgers back the lead heading into the half. Thirty seconds after the Ramblers scored, Boer followed up a header by Taylor Gordon to bag Wisconsin's second tally. It is Boer's first goal of the season.
Coming out of the half, the Badgers were awarded a penalty kick in the 57th minute. Emma Jaskaniec stepped up and buried the ball into the side netting with unwavering composure in front of goal. Jaskaniec's third goal of the season gave the Badgers a 3-1 lead.
The Ramblers made one last push, scoring in the 59th minute, but the Badgers were able to fend off any comeback attempt.
