MANKATO, Minn. – Thanks to a balanced attack, the No. 2 Wisconsin women's hockey team dispatched Minnesota State, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.

Vivian Jungels, Casey O'Brien, Cassie Hall, Britta Curl, Laila Edwards, Kirsten Simms and Maddi Wheeler each lit the lamp as the Badgers (20-4-0, 14-4-0-0-1-0 WCHA) completed the season sweep of the Mavericks (10-15-0, 4-14-0-1-1-0 WCHA) for their seventh-straight win. 

Wisconsin got on the board early as Jungels fired a shot that ricocheted into the MSU net to give UW a 1-0 lead 50 seconds into the game.

Less than two minutes later, O'Brien fired home her 11th of the season, giving UW a 2-0 lead just 2:13 into the game. 

MSU added a goal quickly in the first, making it a 2-1 game after 20 minutes. 

Scoring in her sixth-straight game, Hall gave the Badgers back their two-goal lead early in the second frame. 

The Mavericks found the back of the net, before Curl answered back to make it a 4-2 game. 

Laila Edwards posted her first career shorthanded goal in the third period before Simms and Wheeler added goals late in the frame to put the game out of reach.

Ava McNaughton made 16 saves to earn her 10th win of the year. 

Three Notes of the Game
- With her assist on Britta Curl's goal, senior forward Casey O'Brien reached 150 career points. O'Brien is the 15th skater in program history to accomplish the feat. 
- The Badgers earned their 20th win of the season, marking the 22nd time in program history UW has reached 20 wins. 
- Wisconsin extended its winning streak against Minnesota State to 16 games and improved to 46-1-2 all-time in Mankato.

On reaching 150 points:
"It's really special, I know there are some legends on that list. I'm mostly just happy to be able to contribute to the team in any way I can and if that's with points that's great. Just happy to contribute to the team in any way I can."

Sophomore Kirsten Simms
On the offensive depth on the team:
"It shows the depth that we have as a whole team. It's important, especially later in the season as we get into these more important games. Whether it's playoffs or the later games at the end of the season, it's important that we know we can count on anyone in the lineup to put the puck in the net."
