MADISON, Wis. — The strong debut campaign for
John Blackwell continues, as he earned his latest Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors on Monday.
Blackwell becomes the first Badger to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times since Ethan Happ in 2015-16.
Last week, the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, native averaged 13 points and three rebounds per game while Wisconsin split a pair of games. In UW's home win over Indiana, he finished with 12 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 3FG) and four rebounds.
Blackwell has scored in double figures in 10 of 18 games this season. He's led UW in scoring in two games.
Blackwell ranks fourth in scoring among Big Ten freshmen this season averaging 9.1 points per contest.
Wisconsin plays at Minnesota on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (CT) on Big Ten Network.
