Badgers head to Milwaukee for season opener

MILWAUKEE-- The Wisconsin lightweight rowing team got the fall season started by splitting up to compete at two competitions over the weekend. One group was sent to Oklahoma to compete at Head of the Oklahoma Oct. 5-6, while the other half competed in the Milwaukee River Challenge on Oct 5.

This is the first time since 2019 that Wisconsin has competed in the Milwaukee River Challenge. Rowers across the Midwest competed in the challenge including Purdue and Marquette.

Wisconsin placed second in the Open 4+, finishing close behind the first place team. Lightweight eight team also placed second in the Open 8+ behind Wisconsin's openweight team.

Up Next: Badgers will head down to Rockford, Illinois, to compete in the Head of the Rock on Oct. 13.
