Dominant double-double propels Williams to second Big Ten Player of the Week honor

MADISON, Wis. -  Wisconsin women's basketball junior forward Serah Williams has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week following a dominant performance in Wisconsin's road victory at Butler on Dec.11, the conference announced on Monday.

Williams delivered a career-best performance, scoring a personal-high 36 points on 13-of-26 shooting from the field. She added 14 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals, leading the Badgers to a double-overtime win. It marked her fifth game this season with 20 or more points and her seventh double-double of the year.

Her 36 points ranked fifth all-time and were the most for a Badger since Jolene Anderson scored 42 during the 2007-08 season.

The Brooklyn, New York., native continues to dominate the college basketball scene, ranking in the top five of the Big Ten in scoring with 19.3 points per game. She also leads the conference and stands second nationally in rebounding, averaging an impressive 12.3 boards per game.

This is Williams' second career Player of the Week honor and her first this season. She has also been named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll twice this year.
