1. BADGERS IN MARCH MADNESS

Wisconsin received the No. 5 seed in the South Region during Selection Sunday, giving the program a top-five seed in 11 of its last 15 NCAA Tournament appearances. UW is making its 27th appearance overall in the NCAA tournament, holding a 40-25 (.615) all-time record in the Big Dance. UW has four Final Four appearances and one national title in 1941.

Wisconsin is one of only five schools in the nation that has now played 23 of the last 25 NCAA tournaments, joined by Kansas, Duke, Michigan State and Gonzaga. Under head coach Greg Gard, the Badgers have won their opening-round game in four of their five appearances, including Sweet 16 trips in 2016 and 2017.

3. BIG TEN TOURNAMENT

Last time out, No. 5 seed Wisconsin made a deep run in the Big Ten tournament by winning three games in four days to advance to the championship game. The Badgers were the only team in this year's Big Ten tournament to win over a higher seed, doing so twice with wins over No. 4 seed Northwestern and No. 1 seed Purdue.

UW began the tournament with an 87-56 win over No. 12 seed Maryland in the second round, then took down No. 4 Northwestern in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Wisconsin squared off against the tournament favorites in No. 1 Purdue, but came away with a thrilling 76-75 overtime victory. The Badgers ultimately lost a competitive championship game, however, falling in a 93-87 final against second-seeded Illinois.

It was the team's first appearance at the arena, with the Badgers falling to both Richmond and New Mexico.

The other three UW visits to New York were in 2018 for the Big Ten tournament (the Badgers played Maryland and Michigan State), 2017 for B1G Super Saturday (Wisconsin played Ohio State in a basketball and hockey double header), and 2015 for the 2K Classic (UW beat both Georgetown and VCU).
