MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's tennis team now has 10-straight wins after defeating Iowa, 4-0, today, March 29, on the outdoor courts of Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
With 10 straight wins, the Badgers are on its second-longest win streak, following an 11-win streak in 1996.
At No. 3 doubles,
Taylor Cataldi and
Rosie Garcia Gross breezed through their set taking down the Hawkeyes 6-2. With UW's No. 2 dropping, the point was in the hands of
Maria Sholokhova and
Alina Mukhortova. They came out on top of the battle, 6-4.
Cataldi was the first to finish for the Badgers, clinching her sets, 6-3, 6-1. She is now on a winning streak of 4 at No. 3 singles. Playing until clinch, Sholokhova was the deciding factor. She took down her opponent, 6-4, 6-4.
