
Tyler Wahl to participate in Portsmouth Invitational Tournament

Event takes place April 17-20 in front of NBA and professional scouts
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin graduate student Tyler Wahl accepted an invitation to compete in the 2024 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, which takes place April 17-20 at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Wahl was one of 64 senior college basketball players from across the nation invited to compete at the event. The four-day, 12-game tournament is made up of eight teams of eight players that have the opportunity to compete in front of NBA and international scouts.
Wahl is on the "Portsmouth Sports Club" team, joined by Tyler Burton (Villanova), Jermaine Couisnard (Oregon), Aaron Estrada (Alabama), KJ Jones II (Emmanuel), Drew Pember (UNC Ashville), Joel Soriano (St. John's) and Shahada Wells (McNeese State).
The first game for Wahl and "Portsmouth Sports Club" is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. (ET). The games will be streamed live online.
Other players from the Big Ten participating include Jamison Battle (Ohio State), Marcus Domask (Illinois), A.J. Hoggard (Michigan State), Donta Scott (Maryland), Tyson Walker (Michigan State) and Jahmir Young (Maryland).
Over the years, the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament has welcomed players that are now household names, like Rick Barry, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Dave Cowens, Scottie Pippen, Tim Hardaway, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy Butler and more.
Wahl finished his career at Wisconsin playing in 162 career games — setting the UW program record — including 120 starts, which ranks fifth in school history. Wahl played in 106 wins (fifth-most at UW), accumulating 1,350 points, 800 rebounds and 271 assists.
