Wilson and Livingstone medal as Badgers sit third at Big Ten Championships

Badgers score 16 points in 10,000 meters to highlight action on Friday
ANN ARBOR, MICH. – Micah Wilson and Johnny Livingstone finished second and third in an incredible 10,000 meters race as the Wisconsin men's track & field team concluded Day One of the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships in third place with 17 points.
Wilson earned silver after nearly tracking down Michigan's Tom Brady across the final 200 meters. Wilson finished the 25-lap race in 29 minutes, 19.30 seconds, a season-best time.
Livingstone took third in 29:32.06 in his first 10,000 meters at the collegiate level. Sam Craig placed seventh in 29:42.32 to earn an additional two points for the Cardinal and White.
In his first outdoor Big Ten meet, Jacob Bugella earned a podium finish, placing eighth thanks to a toss of 204 feet, 2 inches (62.24m).
After the first day of the decathlon, Quinn Lansill sits in sixth place with 3,752 points, following a runner-up finish in the 400 meters to close out the afternoon. The New York native also set a personal best in the 100 meters at 11.11 and finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6-1 ¼ (1.86m).
Cade Amborn competed alongside Lansill and started the day off strong with top-three finishes in the high jump and shot put. However, he was disqualified in the 400 meters and now sits 10th with 3,081 points as five events remain on Saturday.
Up Next: The second day of the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships will begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. CT with the 110 hurdles in the decathlon.
