Rayle earns bronze on final day of Big Tens

Senior earns third medal at conference meet
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Senior Maya Rayle finished third in the 5000 meters to highlight action for the Wisconsin women's track and field team on Sunday at the 2024 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships.Â
Rayle crossed the line in 16 minutes, 12.04 seconds to earn bronze in her first Big Ten outdoor meet.
Three other Badgers earned top-15 showings in the 5000 meters as Vivian Hacker was 10th in 16:35.12, Bella Jacobsen was close behind in 11th in 16:35.68 and Victoria Heiligenthal took 15th in 16:45.72.Â
Kiley Robbins enjoyed a busy Sunday, as the senior finished sixth in the 100 meters in 11.39. Less than an hour later Robbins was back on the track for the 200 meters, where she placed ninth in 25.02.
In the 1500 meters, Kylie Finger and Madison Mooney ran a hard fought race. Finger finished ninth at 4:24.84 while Mooney placed 11th in 4:35.56 after being tripped in the first lap.Â
The Badgers posted a pair of top-15 finishes in the women's discus as Danni Langseth was 12th with a mark of 147-3 (44.88 meters) and Chikere Oduocha was 14th with a mark of 143-3.Â
As a team, the Badgers took ninth with 31 points as Minnesota won the team title with 131 points.Â
Up Next: The postseason journey continues for the Badgers with the NCAA West First Round, May 22-25 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The top-48 athletes in the region in each event except the heptathlon will advance to the qualifying meet for the NCAA outdoor championships.Â
