
Harvey, O’Brien recognized in WCHA weekly awards

Harvey receives Defender of the Week, O’Brien named Forward of the Week
MADISON, Wis. – Captains Casey O'Brien and Caroline Harvey received WCHA weekly awards after leading the Wisconsin women's hockey team to a sweep of Lindenwood, the league announced on Monday.
O'Brien received the WCHA Forward of the Week award and Harvey received WCHA Defender of the Week honors.
Harvey led all WCHA defenders with five points on four assists and a goal, tying for first among all defenders in goals. O'Brien led the WCHA with eight points on two goals and an impressive WCHA-leading six assists. O'Brien sits in fourth place in school history now in career assists with 121 assists, only 17 short of Sara Bauer's school record of 138 assists.
Harvey led the WCHA with a plus/minus of seven along with two of her teammates in Kelly Gorbatenko and Lacey Eden. O'Brien tied for second in plus/minus behind them alongside fellow Badger Vivian Jungels.
O'Brien currently is third overall in the NCAA and leads all forwards with four points per game in the NCAA.
Harvey and O'Brien helped lead the Badgers to 20 goals in the two game series against Lindenwood and helped UW match the NCAA record for most goals in a single period with eight.
The top-ranked Badgers head east to take on Boston College this weekend in Chestnut Hill, Mass., Puck drop on both Friday and Saturday is set for 5 p.m. CT.
