MADISON, Wis. -- Following a sweep of No. 4/5 Minnesota Duluth, two Badgers on the Wisconsin women's hockey team were named WCHA Players of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. After their outstanding performance in this past weekend's series, Captain Caroline Harvey was awarded WCHA Defender of the Week, and Kirsten Simms garnered the WCHA Forward of the Week.
After being down 3-2 to UMD in Saturday's game, Harvey tied up the score with 20.9 seconds remaining in the third period, before
Cassie Hall scored the game-winning goal. The next day, Harvey collected a goal and two assists, earning a total of four points during the series against Duluth - the most points of any WCHA defender this week.
