Winter collects third double-double of the season in setback
SALT LAKE CITY – The Wisconsin men's basketball team fell 98-70 to No. 9 BYU on Friday at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Nolan Winter led the way for the Badgers with his sixth-career double-double, notching 14 points and 14 rebounds. It's his third double-double of the season, joining just four other Big Ten players with three-plus.
Nick Boyd led the Badgers' second-half comeback effort, pouring in 16 points overall and 12 in the second-period thanks to 7-of-14 shooting. He hit several downhill layups off the glass to try and spark the Badger offense. Backcourt-mate John Blackwell joined him in double-figures with 14, tallying seven boards and two assists, as well.
Braeden Carrington added 14 off the bench, eight in the first half, while Jack Janicki got five of his own.
Up Next: The Badgers will head to San Diego to take part in the Rady Children's Invitational next week at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. UW will face Providence on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. CT on FS1 and will take on either No. 10 Florida or TCU on Friday in a matchup that will air nationally on Fox.
