Badgers snag five NCAA qualifying times
AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 17 Wisconsin women's swim and dive team closed out the final day of competition at the Texas and Ohio State invites, grabbing five NCAA qualifying times across six events.
Sophomore Maggie Wanezek highlighted the day by breaking off for a first place finish in the 200 back, coming in more than two seconds ahead of the rest of the field to grab an NCAA invite time. The Badger broke the 1:50 mark for the first time in her career with a time of 1:48.39.
Stella Chapman and Hazal Ozkan picked up NCAA qualifying times in the 200 IM, both touching the wall for a time of 1:57.41 to break into the top-10 all-time list. Abby Wanezek also collected a qualifying time in the 100 back in 48.24.
The 400 free relay team of Abby Wanezek, Maggie Wanezek, Hailey Tierney and Blair Stoneburg closed out the night by grabbing an NCAA "A" cut with a time of 3:13.03.
At Ohio State, Ryane Neal and Julia Herring put up strong showings on the 1-meter board. The pair of Badgers broke into the C Final, collecting 234.45 and 226.15 points, respectively.
