MADISON, Wis. - The No. 10 Wisconsin women's volleyball team is back on the road for the final week of the regular season, as they prepare to take on Northwestern on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and No. 18 Minnesota on Friday, Nov. 28.Â
First serve for Wednesday's match is set to start at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on B1G+. The Badgers (22-4, 15-3) will wrap up the regular season with the second edition of the 2025 Border Battle versus the Golden Gophers, slated to start at 8:00 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.
Outside hitter Mimi Colyer, middle blocker Carter Booth and setter Charlie Fuerbringer each started the last week of the regular season with a highlight.Â
Colyer was announced as the first overall pick in the 2025 Major League Volleyball Draft by the Dallas Pulse on Monday morning. Booth followed shortly after, also joining the Pulse as the 19th overall pick in the draft. Colyer and Booth are the 40th and 41st Badgers to play professionally.
As for weekly awards, Fuerbringer notched the Big Ten Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season—enjoying one of her top performances of the year against Iowa. The sophomore guided the Badgers to a .510 hitting percentage, the third-highest mark in program history and the best against a conference foe in a three-set match.Â
Fuerbringer's 49 assists against the Hawkeyes are tied for the second-most in UW history, as Wisconsin assistant coach Lauren Carlini turned in 49 against Rutgers back in 2016. Since Fuerbringer returned from injury, the Badgers are 5-0 and have not dropped a set.Â
UW will take its seven-match winning streak on the road over the holiday week, beginning with the Wildcats. Wisconsin has won the past 15 matches, notching sweeps in 13 of those. During head coach Kelly Sheffield's tenure, the Badgers have not lost a match to Northwestern.Â
Wisconsin went on to defeat Minnesota in four sets a couple of weeks ago, looking to secure their first win at The Pav since 2021. Colyer led the way on the offensive end in this year's first matchup—tallying 21 kills.Â
The California native recently broke Sarah Franklin's program record for most kills in a Big Ten season. Franklin finished last season with 308 in 20 matches, as Colyer eclipsed that mark versus the Hawkeyes this past Sunday. With two matches left on the conference slate, the senior enters this week with 312 kills.
After Friday's match, UW will look to the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, Nov. 30 to determine their postseason seeding and site.
