Wisconsin will face No. 13 Ole Miss and JMU in the Daytona Beach Classic
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team will travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Daytona Beach Classic. The Badgers will face No. 13 Ole Miss on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. (CT) and JMU on Nov. 29 at 12:30 p.m. (CT). Both games will be streamed on BallerTV.
Here are five things to know before the Badgers head to the beach:
1. BADGER SPOTLIGHT:Â Junior guard Kyrah Daniels has been a force for the Badgers early this season, leading the team with 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game through seven contests.
The Badgers and Rebels are tied in the all-time series, 2-2.
3. JMU SCOUTING REPORT: Through early season games, the Dukes are averaging 70.3 points, 42.4 rebounds, and 11.3 assists per game. Their leading scorer, Peyton McDaniel, is averaging 19.6 points per game. Their top rebounder, Ashanti Barnes, is averaging 9.7 rebounds per game, while Zakiya Stephenson is adding 3.7 assists per contest.
This will be the first meeting between the Badgers and the Dukes.
4. LAST TIME OUT:Â The Wisconsin women's basketball team (6-1) extended its winning streak to five games with a 81-63 home victory against Detroit Mercy (1-3).
With the win, the Badgers are off to their best start since the 2018-19 and are undefeated at home with five wins.
Wisconsin shot 44.7% (21-53) from the field, 44.4% (12-27) from three, and 58.3% (7-12) at the free-throw line. On the other end, Detroit Mercy finished at 39.6% (21-53) from the field, 19.0% (4-21) from deep, and 68.0% (17-25) at the line.
5. LOOKING AHEAD: Wisconsin will return home for its Big Ten opener against No. 22 Michigan State on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. CT. The game will be available to watch on the Big Ten Network and the FOX Sports app.
