Badger duo collect Defender and Forward of the Week awards
MADISON, Wis. - After leading their team to a 22-goal weekend against Mercyhurst and Stonehill in Nashville, Caroline Harvey and Lacey Eden were awarded Defender and Forward of the Week, respectively, the WCHA announced on Monday.
Captain Caroline Harvey led all WCHA defenders with seven points this weekend, all coming from assists. She helped Wisconsin win the SMASHVILLE Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase this weekend, where Harvey put up three assists against Mercyhurst and four against Stonehill.
Against Mercyhurst, Harvey eclipsed 168 career points, surpassing Ronda Curtin as the WCHA's all-time defensive point scorer.
The senior captain has now earned this distinction four times this season. Last month, the defender received national recognition and was named the HCA Defender of the Month as well.
Harvey currently leads all DI women's hockey players with 37 points and 28 assists.
Alternate captain Lacey Eden received WCHA Forward of the Week for the first time this season. Last weekend in Nashville, Eden collected three goals and five assists, posting back-to-back four point games. Eden has been on a tear as of late, accumulating 13 points in her last four games.
Eden has earned Forward of the Week four times now in her career. She, along with Simms, are tied for the second most points in the nation behind Harvey.
