Defenseman is third in NHL games played among former NCAA skaters
MADISON, Wis. – St. Louis Blues defenseman Ryan Suter reached a huge milestone as he skated in his 1,500th NHL game on Saturday.
Suter, who is a Madison native, sits in third in all-time games played among collegiate skaters and Americans.
Former UW player Chris Chelios leads NCAA players and Americans with 1,651, followed by Matt Cullen (St. Cloud State) with 1,516. View the full NCAA NHL games played list here.
Suter can tie for second all-time on March 23 against Nashville if he skates in all of St. Louis' games in the lead up.
The defenseman currently has one goal and 10 points in 56 games played this year, and is the seventh blue-liner in NHL history to reach the 1,500 games played mark.
Ryan Suter is set to skate in his 1,500th @NHL game Saturday, becoming just the 22nd player in history to do so.
