Badgers complete Wisconsin Windy City Invite

Willemse dominates 3000 meters in Chicago
CHICAGO - The Wisconsin women's track and field were led by a first-place finish from Leane Willemse in the second and final day of the annual Wisconsin Windy City Invite at Gately Stadium.
The Mequon native earned gold in the 3000 meters with a winning time of nine minutes, 7.80 seconds to best the competition. She was followed closely by Fiona McLoughlin, who placed fourth with a time of 9:16.38.
A pair of Badgers in Mya Bunke and Emma Kruse hit their stride in the 800 meters competition, each placing within the top-5. Bunke finished with a time of 2:09.50, good for a runner-up finish, while Kruse covered the distance in 2:09.55.Â
To round out the day, Danni Langseth and Zonica Lindeque were both within the top-5 of the shot put event, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.Â
Up Next: The Badgers will be back on the road next weekend for a pair of meets between the Red Bird Tune-Up in Normal, Illinois on Friday, Feb. 21 and the Alex Wilson Invite in South Bend, Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 22.
