MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team got its first road victory of the spring season on Thursday with a 5-2 decision over Marquette. The Badgers claimed the doubles point and saw four singles victories against the Golden Eagles. 

The Badgers are now 6-2 to start the spring for the first time since the 2020 season. 

The Badgers started the match strong with two decisive doubles victories to take the 1-0 lead. Sophomores Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek worked quickly to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. This was their fifth win as partners during dual play this spring. The sophomore duo of Matthew Fullerton and Collin Beduhn paired up for just the second time this season, securing the doubles point with a 6-3 victory. 

In singles play, freshman Patrik Meszaros continued to shine at No. 3 singles with a straight set victory over Marquette's Kristian Blagoev. He improved to an impressive 7-1 in dual play this spring season. Michael Minasyan also won in straight sets at No. 1 singles winning 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Matthew Fullerton clinched the Badgers win with a comeback victory at No. 4 singles. 

Sophomore Collin Beduhn had a successful spring season debut at No. 5 singles. He beat Marquette's Remi St. Laurent in straight sets to give Wisconsin a fifth match point. 

Wisconsin improves to 57-3-1 in the all-time series against Marquette. The Badgers are now 20-1 when facing the Golden Eagles in Milwaukee. 

Up Next: This match marks the end of the 2025 non-conference schedule. The Badgers will have a little over a week to prepare for their first Big Ten contest of the season against Northwestern. First serve for this match is 6 p.m. on Friday, March 7 in Evanston, Illinois.
