Badger softball falls to Wolverines

UW drops game, 8-1, in Devon Park finale

OKLAHOMA CITY. - The Wisconsin softball team (19-12, 3-4) fell in the team's final game at Devon Park, losing to Michigan, 8-1.

Wisconsin struggled with runners in scoring position in the game, mustering just one run. Michigan put together two innings of three-runs, allowing for the victory.

The game was tied at 1-1 going into the bottom of the third, with a Kenda Lewis sacrifice fly providing the only offense for Wisconsin. Michigan answered with a crooked number in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.

Freshman Jordan Felci (0-1) made her first start of her career, letting up two earned runs in 2.0 innings pitched. Felci drew ground balls from the Wolverine batters, with the grounders just escaping the infield. Michigan's first three runs all came off singles and groundouts.

Molly Jacobson, Shelby Jacobson, Gabby Fakes, and Mattie Beliveau all made relief appearances in the game.

Wisconsin's offense loaded the bases twice, in the fifth and seventh innings. UW went a combined 0-for-4 with the bases loaded, however, leaving 12 base runners stranded in the game.

The Badgers finish their two-team conference series at Devon Park with a 1-3 record.
