FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Wisconsin men's swim team finished day two of the NCAA Championships with a tenth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay as
Taiko Torepe-Ormsby set a school record as the lead-off leg.
The relay team of
Taiko Torepe-Ormsby,
Cooper Scharff,
Ben Wiegand and
Chris Morris put up a time of 1:15.40, good for an All-American honorable mention with the tenth place finish. Torepe-Ormsby set the school record in the 50 freestyle with his lead-off leg with a time of 18.75, beating the previous record by one hundredth.Â
Earlier in the day,
Yoav Romano finished 24th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:14.99. In the 200 IM,
Chris Morris checked in at 27th with a time of 1:42.69. In his individual swim in the 50 freestyle, Torepe-Ormsby finished 20th in 19.04.Â
Competition resumes on Friday with the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 400 medley relay.Â
