MADISON, Wis. – The No. 18 Wisconsin women's tennis team set a new program record for longest win streak, securing its 12th consecutive victory with a 4-2 win over Maryland.
The previous record of 11 consecutive wins was set in 1996 and matched it in 2024 before the Badgers surpassed it with their 12th straight victory.
Wisconsin dominated in doubles, as the pairings of Ariel Johnson/Maria Sholokhova and Ekaterina Ivanova/Tianna Rangan cruised to 6-2 and 6-3 wins, to clinch the point.
Maryland fought back in singles play, evening the match at 2-2, but Johnson quickly responded, earning Wisconsin's third point with a straight-set victory. Ivanova then sealed the win, battling through three sets to claim her first-ever victory at the No. 2 position.
