Former Badger teammate Holloway posts his first 20-goal season
MADISON, Wis. – After lighting the lamp against Buffalo on March 3, Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield reached the 30-goal mark on the season, becoming the seventh Badger in history to reach the milestone.

The other six Badgers to score 30 goals in a single NHL season include Tony Granato, Dany Heatley, Mark Johnson, Scott Mellanby, Brian Mullen and Joe Pavelski.

Caufield also recently tallied his 200th NHL point, becoming the fastest Canadiens player in 30 years to reach the mark.

In 61 games played this season, the forward is tied for ninth in the NHL with 30 goals and ranks second on the Montreal roster with 55 points.
Dylan Holloway, a forward on the St. Louis Blues, continued his hot season by reaching the 20-goal milestone for the first time, making him the 18th Badger to reach the mark.

Holloway has 20 goals and 46 points in 62 games played this season, ranking him second in goals and third in points on the Blues' roster.

Ryan Suter, the other former Badger on the St. Louis Blues, has one goal and 11 points in 62 games played. The defenseman recently reached the 1,500 games played milestone and was honored with a pre-game ceremony in St. Louis on Feb. 23.

After being signed by the Columbus Blue Jackets as a free agent in November, forward Joseph LaBate made his NHL season debut on Feb. 22, playing in his first major league game since March 28, 2017. The forward has played in 17 total NHL games since 2016: 13 in 2016-17 with the Vancouver Canucks and four with the Blue Jackets this year, including participating in an outdoor game with Columbus as part of the 2025 NHL Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium on March 1.
LaBate tallied his first NHL point on Feb. 27 with an assist in the Blue Jackets' 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

The forward has played 438 games in the AHL since 2014, racking up 69 goals and 146 points. In 33 games played for the Cleveland Monsters this year, he has six goals and 13 points.

LaBate is the 13th Badger to play in the NHL this season.
Chicago Blackhawks forward Craig Smith has eight goals and 15 points in 39 games played this year, tallying his first goal of 2025 on Feb. 8 against St. Louis after spending the majority of the new year on injured reserve.

Defenseman Ty Emberson has 10 assists in 58 games played this season for the Edmonton Oilers, tying his career high in points set in his first NHL season last year. His last assist came on Feb. 22 in the Oilers' 6-3 loss to Philadelphia.

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Ryan McDonagh has found some offensive success as of late, tallying one goal and four assists in his last nine games to total two goals and 19 points in 60 games played. He is currently tied for the league lead in plus-minus with a plus-35 rating.

Mathieu De St. Phalle made his AHL season debut with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Feb. 22 after spending the majority of the year in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers. In 47 games played for the Nailers, the forward has 17 goals and ranks second on the team with 44 points.
