Freshman cards 4-over par in loaded field

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. — Wisconsin rounded out the regular season with a ninth-place finish at The Ford Collegiate, challenging some of the nation's best teams. Freshman Charlie Erlandson led the Badgers taking 11th-place overall.

As a team, UW shot a combined 291-295-278=864 in the tournament, scoring a 24-over par. They finished in 9th place out of 12 teams.

Erlandson boasted an impressive final round, including 3 birdies, and a 2-under par score. The freshman led the Badgers throughout the tournament, carding a 73-70-68=211 and placing tied in 11th place at 1-over par.

Jacob Beckman climbed 14 spots on the leaderboard in the final round, finishing in a tie for 19th. With an even-par Round 1 and 3, Beckman carded 70-74-70=214, scoring 4-over par for the tournament.

Both Badgers placed ahead of several top-50 golfers overall.

No. 2 Texas took first place at 2-under par, followed by an even-par No. 7 LSU in second, and No. 1 Auburn in third at 4-over par.

This concludes the 2024-25 regular season for the Badgers. Up next, Wisconsin will head to the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship in Baltimore, Maryland, from Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27.

Round 1&2:

After day one and 36 holes of golf at the Ford Collegiate, Wisconsin sits in 9th place out of loaded field. Freshman Charlie Erlandson sits at 3-over to lead the Badgers, ranking 24th overall. Play resumes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

Wisconsin shot a combined 26-over par, 291-295=586, in the first two rounds of play. UW is currently tied in 9th place in a field that includes eight ranked teams, including top-four schools.

Erlandson went 3-over on the first 18, but fired an even par 70 on the second 18 to post the Badgers lowest score (143). Trailing just one stroke behind, Jacob Beckman is tied for 33rd place overall, carding a 4-pver (70-74=144).

No. 1 Auburn currently sits in first place at 4-under par, followed by No. 7 LSU at 1-under par. In third, No. 7 Texas sits 1-over par. .
