REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The Wisconsin women's lightweight rowing team showed a solid performance today against the Stanford Cardinal. The Badgers are coming off a great weekend at the Knecht Cup and they carried that momentum into this head-to-head match.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Badgers won the double sculls and varsity four races, but dropped the varsity eight race. The Badgers dominated in their two victories, winning the double sculls by nearly 20 seconds and winning the varsity four by just under 10 seconds. UW entered with the No. 2 ranking in the double sculls and the No. 4 rank in the lightweight four, while Stanford ranked No. 7 and No. 8, respectively in those two events. In the final race of the day, the No. 5 Badgers lost the varsity eight race to the No. 6 Cardinal in a tough loss.

The Badgers travel to Worcester, Massachusetts, for the 2025 Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 4. The Sprints serve as the lightweight's conference championships.
