OJAI, Calif. - The Wisconsin women's tennis team made quick work of the Penn State Nittany Lions in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament, winning 4-0. This is the second sweep of Penn State in under a week for the Badgers after they wrapped up their regular season with a 4-0 victory at Penn State. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Wisconsin was clicking from the opening serve. In doubles play, Ekaterina Ivanova and Taylor Cataldi teamed up to grab the first victory for the Badgers winning, 6-3. From there, Kaja Jacobson and Parker Christensen clinched the point after taking down Deanna Lasorda and Maria Ciubotaru, 6-2. The Badgers did not need their top duo in Ariel Johnson and Maria Sholkhova to win the point, yet they finished with a lead of 5-3. 

Singles play was more of the same for Wisconsin, who came out with the same fire they showed in doubles play. Big Ten first team selection, Maria Sholokhova nabbed the next point by taking down Olivia Dorner, 6-1, 6-2, continuing her dominant season. Next, Big Ten second team player Taylor Cataldi kept Maiko Uchijima at bay, winning 6-2, 6-3. Sholokhova and Cataldi have been outstanding all season, and seem to be continuing that kind of play when it matters most. Sophomore, Ellison Reynoldson shut the Nittany Lions down for good, winning in a commanding match 6-3, 6-0. 

UP NEXT:
Wisconsin will get a rematch against UCLA tomorrow at 2 PM. The last time they faced UCLA, they snapped Wisconsin's 13 game winning streak in a tough 4-3 loss in Los Angeles. The Badgers have a chance to get some revenge against the 4-seeded Bruins on the Big Ten's biggest stage.
