Five things to know: Badgers split for meets in Platteville and College Station

UW to compete in variety of events in Texas and Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's track and field team splits up for two meets this weekend as several student-athletes make their 2025 outdoor debuts. Select throwers, sprinters, jumpers and distance will travel to College Station for the 44 Farms Team Invite, hosted by Texas A&M, on Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12. Events begin at 2:00 p.m. CT on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Several distance runners will head to the UW-Platteville Invite, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, on Friday, April 11 to Saturday, April 12. Events begin at 7:50 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers had a standout weekend at the Stanford Invite, highlighted by personal records from Bob Liking, Matan Ivri and Johnny Livingstone, all resulting in top-10 times. Liking broke 28 minutes in the 10,000 meters to finish ninth in the invitational section, replacing himself as the second-fastest time in school history with a time of 27:55.50. Ivri had an exceptional 5000 meter run, posting a 12-second personal best of 13:33.05, now No. 9 all-time at UW and the second-fastest ever by an Israeli athlete. Livingstone wrapped up the weekend clocking 28:24.77 to rank fifth in the program's history.
2. FUN ON THE FARMS: The Badgers head south for the 44 Farms Team Invite at Texas A&M, where two relays will make their season debuts—the 4x100 and 4x400. In the 4x100, freshman Landon Gallun will lead off, followed by Elliott Harris, Gio Wearing, and Jalen Williams. The 4x400 will close out the weekend for the Badgers, with Harris leading off, followed by first-team All-Americans Patrick Hilby and Andrew Casey, and anchored by Williams. Junior Gio Wearing will also compete in the 110-meter hurdles, while Gallun is set to run the 100 meters. The Badger throws group returns with Andrew Stone, Joseph White, and Jake Schaefer competing in the discus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Jacob Zenik will throw the javelin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, and Cole Hooper will compete at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Zednik currently ranks 19th in the West Region
3. IN PLATEVILLE: Select middle distance and distance runners will take to the track at the UW-Platteville Invite this weekend. Fresh off his steeplechase debut, Nick Gilles will race in the 5000 meters alongside Pierce Seigne. That event begins at 9:20 p.m. on Friday. To close out the night, Micah Wilson and Logan Measner will compete in the fastest heat of the 5000 meters, scheduled for 10:05 p.m. Friday. Redshirt freshman JJ Williams will round out the Badgers' lineup, racing in the 800 meters at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday.
4. ADAM IN AUSTRALIA: Senior Adam Spencer is set to compete in the 1500 meters at the Australian Athletics Championships on April 10th at 3:35 p.m. local time (2:30 a.m. CT). The reigning Australian national champion, Spencer holds the school record in the 1500 meters.
5. TOP-5 NATIONWIDE: Wisconsin currently ranks fifth in the USTFCCCA John McDonnell Program of the Year standings, thanks to a fourth-place finish by the cross country team, 4 POY points, and a 16th-place finish by the indoor track & field team, 17 POY points. The Badgers trail BYU by just two points.
UP NEXT: The Badgers head west for the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University. The meet begins on Wednesday, April 16 and goes through Friday, April 18.
