Senior brings frontcourt experience to Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – Senior Elijah Gray has signed with the Wisconsin men's basketball program, the team announced on Tuesday.Ā 

A 6-9 forward, Gray started his collegiate career at Fordham, where he played for two years before transferring to Temple for the 2024-25 season.

"I'm really excited to join such a historic program," Gray said. "There is a culture of greatness here at Wisconsin and I'm excited to be a part of that."

"We're excited to welcome Elijah to the Badger family," head coach Greg Gard said.Ā  "He brings a lot of experience to the table having three years of college hoops under his belt. We're excited to have him on campus this summer and work with us for the upcoming season."Ā 

As a member of the Fordham Rams, he averaged 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds on 42 percent shooting across 32 games during the 2023-24 campaign. He also led Fordham in free-throw percentage, converting at a 76.7 percent clip

The Charlotte native moved to Temple for his junior season, posting 9 points and 3.8 rebounds, while upping his field goal mark to 48.1 percent in 25 games. Gray also reached double-figure scoring in 11 contests and notched his first career double-double against Tulsa on Feb. 12 thanks to 10 point, 10 rebound performance.Ā 

During the 2024-25 season, he had a five-game stretch in league play where he averaged 11.6 points and 4.8 boards.Ā 

Prior to college, Gray had successful high school campaigns at the Hargrave Military Academy and the Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte. At Hargrave, he had a strong senior season, averaging 17.1 points and 8.2 rebounds.
