Wrestling welcomes six for 2025–26 season

Wisconsin welcomes six newcomers as program builds toward the 2025–26 season.
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Wrestling is set to welcome six incoming student-athletes to the program ahead of the 2025–26 season. With state champions, nationally ranked competitors, and academic achievers, this class reinforces the program's tradition of excellence and commitment to developing elite talent on and off the mat.
"Our coaching staff is fired up about this incoming freshman class," head coach Chris Bono said. "Their dedication, character and drive set the tone for the future of our program. We're proud to welcome them to the Badger family."
133/141 lbs | 5-7
A 2023 Wisconsin State Champion and four-time All-Conference selection, Tomazevic trained at Askren Wrestling Academy and is known for his aggressive style and competitive mindset.

141 lbs | 5-6
Bobzien comes to Madison as a state champion and first-team All-Conference honoree. He was recognized with both the Character & Leadership All-American Award and the Scholar All-American Award.

125 lbs | 5-6
A three-time IHSA State Champion and the 2025 NHSCA National Champion, Waughtel brings an elite national resume that includes 1A Wrestler of the Year honors and time with Purler Wrestling Academy.
Quote: "I'm excited to have world-class resources to expand not only my academic life but also my wrestling life."
184 lbs | 6-0
A three-time state medalist and two-time finalist, Dennee is a two-time Fargo All-American and runner-up at the World Team Trials. He trained with Crass Trained and Valley Elite and enters ranked No. 9 nationally by FloWrestling.

149 lbs | 5-10
McDowell is a four-time state placer and four-time conference champion. A freestyle state runner-up and two-time Northern Plains place winner, he trained with Askren Wrestling Academy.

157/165 lbs | 6-0
The 2025 WIAA State Champion, Imhoff is also a two-time state place winner, three-time All-Conference honoree, and a two-time Academic All-State First Team selection. He trained with Sarbacker Wrestling Academy.
