Wisconsin Football’s 2031 meeting with Virginia Tech moved to Charlotte

The Badgers and Hokies will square off in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Football will open the 2031 season against Virginia Tech in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., on August 30, 2031. Virginia Tech announced the location change on Wednesday morning.
The game, originally scheduled to be played in Blacksburg, Va., on Sept. 12, 2031, will now be a neutral site meeting during college football's opening weekend.
Wisconsin last played in Charlotte in the 2020 Duke's Mayo Bowl. Wisconsin defeated Wake Forest 42-28.
Wisconsin has never played Virginia Tech. The sides are also scheduled to meet in 2032 in Madison at Camp Randall Stadium.
