Big Ten matchups are set for 2026
MADISON, Wis. – The Big Ten Conference revealed the full 2026 football schedule on Tuesday afternoon, providing all 18 conference programs dates for each of their nine conference games. The Badgers will open Big Ten action on Saturday, Sept. 26, taking on Penn State at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa.

Including the Big Ten opener at Penn State, Wisconsin will take on new head coaches in its first three Big Ten contests. The Badgers host Michigan State on Oct. 3 for their Big Ten home opener before traveling to take on UCLA on Oct. 17 after a bye week. Wisconsin will take on UCLA for the first time since the Bruins joined the Big Ten and the meeting will be the first between the programs since the 2000 Sun Bowl, a 21-20 Wisconsin victory.
The Badgers will host USC on Oct. 24, marking the Trojans' third trip to Camp Randall and first since 1965. Wisconsin then heads to Iowa City for a Halloween clash with Iowa on Oct. 31.
UW's November slate includes a meeting with Rutgers at Camp Randall (Nov. 7) before trips to take on Maryland (Nov. 14) and Purdue (Nov. 21). Wisconsin is 24-1 against Rutgers, Maryland and Purdue since 2010.
The Badgers wrap up the regular season by hosting Minnesota in the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe on Nov. 28. The historic rivalry maintains its usual timing as UW's final regular season game.
With weekly opponents set, dates are still subject to change when the conference and its television partners select Friday night games. Those games will be announced at a later date.
The 2026 season opens with a primetime meeting against Notre Dame at Lambeau Field. The Badgers and Fighting Irish will square off on Sunday, Sept. 6. Wisconsin then hosts Western Illinois (Sept. 12) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 19) to wrap up its non-conference slate.
