Badger edge rusher picks up his second national award of the week
MADISON Wis. – Wisconsin OLB Sebastian Cheeks has been named the Bednarik Award Player of the Week following Wisconsin's dominant 24-7 win at home over No. 16 USC on Saturday night. Cheeks was also named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Badger win.
Cheeks posted four solo tackles and five total stops in the weekend matchup, including 2.5 sacks. He helped lead a Wisconsin defense that held the Trojans to -18 yards on the ground, which tied for the lowest clip ever allowed in a game by a Badger defense.
This week, No. 25 Wisconsin (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) will travel to Iowa City to take on Iowa (5-2, 2-2) in a Halloween faceoff. Kickoff is set for Saturday, October 31 at 11 a.m. CT inside Kinnick Stadium. The game will air live on FOX.
