Wisconsin standout collects first collegiate award
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's swim and dive freshman Miles Cratsenberg received Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors following the last meet of the regular season, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Cratsenberg collected an individual event win and a runner-up finish at the Badger Invite, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 500 free in 4:22.56. The freshman collected a second-place finish in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 1:50.81. Cratsenberg also anchored a 44.61 split in the 400 free relay to help the team to a second-place finish.
This marks the freshman's first award of his collegiate career.
Looking ahead, Wisconsin returns to action for the Big Ten Championships at home on Feb. 25-28.
