Harvey and Eden earn first team nods
MADISON, Wis. – Seven members of the Wisconsin women's hockey team were named to the 2025-26 All-WCHA teams, the conference announced on Thursday.
Co-captains Lacey Eden and Caroline Harvey were named to the all-conference First Team.
The Second Team Badgers consists of Laila Edwards, Kirsten Simms, and Ava McNaughton.
Cassie Hall and Vivian Jungels were named to the Third Team.
Eden has now earned conference honors three times, but makes the First Team for the first time in her career. This past weekend, when UW played St. Cloud State, Eden surpassed 100 goals. Eden also leads the nation in points, with 68.
Harvey is now a four-time conference honoree after making the All-WCHA Second and Rookie Teams her freshman year. Harvey continued the streak by earning First Team honors the past three seasons. The defender was recently named the Olympic MVP after collecting nine points in Milan while representing Team USA. Joined by Harvey on the gold medal Olympic team were Edwards, Simms and McNaughton.
This is Edwards' second time being named to the All-WCHA First Team, but she is no stranger to the conference honors. Edwards was a Rookie Team member her freshman year before being named to the All-WCHA Third Team as a sophomore. Behind Harvey, Edwards ranks second in average assists per game, with 1.33. Harvey, Edwards, Eden and Simms all make the top four of that list.
Simms has made the All-WCHA first team the past three years now, and was named to the Rookie Team as a freshman. The senior was a 2023-24 Player of the Year nominee and also currently has 48 points, ranking fourth in the conference.
Badger goaltender McNaughton earned her second straight All-WCHA Second Team honor. The junior leads the WCHA goalies in goals against average this year, with 1.29. McNaughton has a save percentage of .939, trailing second behind UMD's Ève Gascon.
Hall and Jungels are first-time all-conference honorees. Hall ranks fourth in the conference in goals, with 23. The junior also ranks fourth in power-play goals, with six. Hall has 42 points so far this season, including a hat trick when UW met No. 3 Minnesota in Minneapolis this January.
Jungels recently had a five-point weekend during the Badgers' series against the Huskies. The defender is second in the conference in plus minus at +50; Eden holds the first spot at +61. Jungels also has 17 assists this season.
